Working on average 16 hours alongside my studies at the Vanbrugh College bar has improved my time management skills as well as the efficiency of adaptive team-working to cover everyone’s schedules, to progress both academically and in my extracurricular without financial repercussions.

Apprising the Environment Society’s 200+ community members of present environmental news, coordinating cooperative society events (SUSTAINABALL) for networking opportunities, as well as developing climate talks around present issues, such as ESG investing, Doughnut Economics & Green Finance as part of ‘Pulling a Greener Pint’ lecture series.

Representing 150+ students voices, escalating where applicable. Deriving pathways for core departmental support, such as live-talk platforms & google message board.

Establishing the community ethos for 700+ students at David Kato College’s for events & university participation in line with the university’s goal as a University of Sanctuary, as well as actioning the levelling up of small-scale greening projects & community well-being events in line with the allocated budget.

Facilitating Student Recruitment, Access and Outreach Opportunities and longterm Marketing campaigns to further enrich the University of York Community.

Performing ecological site assessment (condition and BNG-metric) and research on the University of York campus (Training issued by Smeeden Foreman) , as well as developing a social media campaign to increase involvement of local and surrounding communities with the environment..

Development of key customer relation skills and order processing in the forms of custom declarations, fraud handling, resolution of pre/post-dispatch errors, as well as managing long-distance team-working via meetings across the Slack platform, as well as through updating documentation to log changes as & when applicable.

Formulation of an inter-disciplinary project on an escalated timescale to present to industry partners on sustainability issues at the University of York, in-line with the Social Change model of leadership. A strong highlight of the project was speculation of set-up costs, strategic investment times and optioning of capital (natural, monetary, labour) allocation. On successful completion & review of the project, the team was awarded the York Leaders award, crediting the team-work and clear communication of the project scope.

Planning and launching a 3-month project with educating 300+ adults and children about economics, livelihoods and the environment to establish a prolonged and continuing knowledge base within an isolated finance network. In actioning this we focused on buildable business set up plans for local and government stakeholders, financial advisement, cash flow research & predictions as well as managing events for sustained community engagement, and the development of green spaces. Key challenges were faced with the language barrier (although I learnt Swahili prior to arrival, and improved upon whilst there), as well as the different working culture which whilst initially challenging proved to be a great opportunity to progress in managing and building good relationships with stakeholders
