The role entails:Property development management from the ideation phase, initial market studies and town planning, feasibility studies and presentation to the relevant internal bodies for project approval, design and construction phases to the completion and hand over to property asset management teams or client. Analysis of new property development opportunities to ensure maximum client returns for clients. Management of built environment professional teams in the development of medium to large retail, industrial and commercial developments throughout South Africa . Client relationship management.Delivery of property developments on time and within required quality and budget. Value engineering of property development projects. Implementation of best practice in terms of built environment regulations, green/sustainable practices, BBEEE compliance etc.Supporting the asset management and deals and transactions teams to enhance the value of the clients existing portfolio.

The role entailed:Management of a team of senior, junior and candidate quantity surveyors.Cost management of medium to large construction projects in South Africa and ROA, starting from feasibility studies, tender documentation and adjudication, management of valuations, cost reporting to final completion and handover to clients.Construction contract management. Client relationship management as lead on multi disciplinary projects. Internal project manager for projects including managing the project expenditure, quality management, project risk management, team management and reporting to senior management. Trainer and super-user for QS and AECOM systems.

Quantity Surveying

The ASAQS WC JO caters for candidate quantity surveyors and quantity surveyors under the age of 40 years. The JO assists candidate QS to achieve their PQS status by organising lectures and workshops that cover skills not acquired in the workplace.
