The PIOB is the global independent oversight body that seeks to improve the quality and public interest focus of the international audit and assurance, and ethics standards formulated by the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) and the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA).* Oversight of the IAASB and IESBA projects to develop new or revise existing standards* Identify public interest issues on those projects* Assess the responsiveness of the standards to the public interest
