As an active member of the ICAN Public Sector Committee, I am deeply engaged in the robust financial administration of Namibia's public sector—the largest employer in our nation. My focus is on influencing and advising on critical issues in public financial management, specifically the implementation and setting of accounting and auditing standards. I am a fervent advocate for the adoption of International Public Sector Accounting Standards and the transition from cash to accrual-based accounting. Moreover, I work closely with stakeholders to ensure governance excellence in public sector, including risk management, internal control systems, and ethical considerations. Through these efforts, I contribute significantly to promoting accountability and optimal resource utilization.
