Gateway Mechanical Services is a technical service company specializing in heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R), plumbing and electrical installations and maintenance. As an Intern at Gateway Mechanical Services I did the following: • Researched and analyzed the Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) Market to establish the market position of the company which was used as the baseline for the company’s business plan development • Coordinated the development of the three-year business plan with the involvement of the senior executives to improve the companies market position in the HVAC/R industry in Western Canada• Prepared process maps to determine key stakeholders and bottlenecks that resulted in the optimization of processes and enhanced the efficiency of the Service and Projects departments• Participated in the successful negotiation of HVAC/R vendor and vehicle management contracts to improve the efficiency of the supply chain which resulted in forecasted savings in excess of $1.2 million annually

Implementos Y Maquinarias (IMCA) is the Caterpillar Incorporated (CAT) and John Deere Agricultural Dealer in Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. It specializes in the installation, maintenance, and repair of CAT heavy duty, industrial and energy generation, as well as the John Deere farming equipment.I enjoyed my time as a supervisor, it gave me an opportunity to practice business processes mapping and improvement, business development, networking, and project management.Below are some highlights of my role as the Planning and Warranty Supervisor:• Effectively managed a cross-functional team of ten employees to successfully complete over 100 projects involving heavy machinery, energy generation and agricultural machinery installations, preventative maintenance and repairs• Successfully administered the Caterpillar Inc. and John Deere Agricultural product improvement projects and warranty ensuring that clients could operate their machines safely while maintaining the client's positive perception of the business• Monitored and analyzed data pertaining to machine failures, this allowed me to recognize failure trends and implemented predictive maintenance practices which resulted in decreased downtime for clients• Successfully utilized various supply chain ordering strategies to efficiently procure heavy equipment and energy generation replacement parts and manage the logistic transfer of the parts from vendor to dealership via the dealer's ERP software• Successfully increased client service agreement sales for the company by 10% by leveraging stakeholder relations and negotiation with clients regarding job details to ensure a beneficial repair solution while taking into account the client's budget and operational requirements• Developed and maintained relationships with over 60 clients and suppliers (20% increase) in the public and private sectors, across the energy production, construction, transport and security industries
