Over 40 years oil and gas exploration, exploitation and transportation engineering and safety experience primarily within the Canadian federal regulatory regime. I continue to seek part time and term work opportunities where my experience and skills can provide value in advisory, oversight and quality control roles. I have very much appreciated the opportunities later in my career to be involved in providing technical and regulatory insights in supporting crown engagement with indigenous and community efforts. Also, I have begun to expand my horizons in semi-retirement beyond my work life, discovering purpose and meaning as a volunteer helping to build homes with Habitat for Humanity as one of their Construction Crew Leaders.And now for a long diatribe:Strengths as described by others during my career include: a holistic knowledge of a breadth of technical issues and modern safety management/safety culture approaches, how they interface with current and developing regulatory approaches, and how those approaches may impact the industry; ability to see the bigger picture, to understand the political nuances and to see where we need to be relative to where we are; ability to effectively articulate complex and high profile technical and regulatory information to any audience; excellent and effective mentoring, teaching and leadership of safety and engineering staff; committed to learning and expanding knowledge base through self study and formal education.
