Hello!My name is Vanessa! I’m an animator, and illustrator, from Burlington, Ontario. My main focuses are animating, graphic design, lighting and compositing, comics and book illustration, storyboarding and concept art. I also have experiencing in social media marketing and copywriting. At OCADU I studied Illustration and English, with a focus on women’s rights within the music industry, for my final thesis. I am also a graduate of Sheridan College’s Computer Animation Post-Graduate program and am looking forward to working in the industry! While we learned to be generalists, the disciplines that captured my heart are animating, lighting and, compositing. I’m excited to learn more skills, connect with new peers and dip my toes into the animation industry. In my roles outside of design specific work, I’ve worked as part of a team of managers since 2016, though I have been working in retail since 2013. Together we’ve worked to achieve goals set by our corporate team, as well as motivated, trained and interviewed new team members to create a positive and productive environment in a fast paced setting. Attending school, as well as managing a store and family life, has made me learn time management, and given me the skills to work under intense pressure.
