Since 2015, this system has contributed to a 29% reduction in overall crime and has significantly outperformed national crime resolution rates, serving as a force multiplier for law enforcement and city departments. We are actively expanding the system and collaborating with video analytics experts to create advanced solutions that maximize the value of this investment and further enhance public safety.Intelligent Transportations Systems (ITS)As a project manager and researcher, I have led the design and construction of an innovative Traffic Operations Center (TOC) for the City of Dubuque and currently oversee the STREETS (Smart Traffic Routing with Efficient & Effective Traffic System) project. This initiative integrates AI-powered video analytics, microsimulation models, and ITS sensors to optimize real-time traffic monitoring, signal operations, and predictive analytics, enhancing traffic flow, safety, and efficiency. My work focuses on leveraging advanced video technologies, including both on-premises and cloud-based solutions, to transform public safety infrastructure into intelligent, data-driven systems for smarter traffic management and smart city applications.
