I am passionate about working collaboratively and leading teams to achieve ambitious public health outcome, with a focus on health equity. I have held previous roles in clinical medicine, public health research and applied public health medicine, both in infectious and preventable chronic diseases, and have worked in government, academia and, in voluntary roles, the non-government sector.I am fascinated by public health and how behaviour, the environment, culture, and policies inter-relate to impact on the health of communities and nations. Currently, I am working in the area of health protection and communicable disease - having spent the last 2+ years responding to COVD-19 in the ACT and also contributing to our national policy response through my work on the Communicable Diseases Network Australia Committee and other national committees. I have worked across a diverse range of areas of public health, including tobacco control, preventative chronic diseases, health promotion, and immunisation, as well as with diverse populations, including refugees and migrants, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. I consider myself a 'generalist' public health physician and am most happy when I can work with smart and committed people across a range of portfolio areas.My leadership style is values-driven and I have a strong commitment to honesty, integrity, and trust. I care for people I work for and who work for me and take my social and environmental responsibilities seriously.
