I support the outreach goals of the Gwinnett County and DeKalb County Soil and Water Conservation District(s) and US Dept. of Agriculture/Natural Resources Conservation Service (Lawrenceville District). My focus is mainly on developing educational programming for communities and schools - I also secure funding and organize partnerships that strengthen that programming. From teaching kids in school gardens, to coaching teachers on how to integrate nature into their curriculum, to helping people become better stewards of our natural resources - I get to touch on a lot of exciting aspects of conservation through teaching, funding, networking and marketing.

Gardens for Growing Community (G4GC) is a 501(c)3 organization that helps build healthy communities through gardening in public schools. We create & maintain mini farms that support local economies & workforce development initiatives, plus learning gardens & forest venues that serve as outdoor classrooms. G4GC is a resource for nonprofits, educational institutions and civic organizations committed to empowering youth & strengthening communities through the lens of environmental stewardship.

Some topics allow for poetry while others require straightforward telling...as a writer, I offer the skill and proven experience for effectively organizing and communicating compelling messages. Do you have a story that wants to be told?

Instead of a product, I market a place and a vision....for a 147-year young town! My job is to keep residents, business owners and the media aware of what's happening in the community (and "why") and to also create opportunities for people to connect and engage. I develop the City's vision by creating branding campaigns, advertising strategies and marketing collateral that targets the "creative class" - an abstract demographic based on common interests and dreams rather than skin color, gender or age. By generating and promoting an environment that embraces diversity and creativity, my job is to build a sense of community as well as a tangible sense of place. Branding the City of Norcross means deeply understanding this community's vision, then finding "outside the box" ways to manifest that vision into something people can see, read and talk about - and want to experience firsthand as visitors, residents and stakeholders.

Super cool job promoting a community I love and call home. My job is to create special events that support and help market local downtown businesses, by attracting visitors into the charming district! From creating and managing the local farmers market, to the live music of the BluesBerry Festival, Blossom and the Strawberry Stroll, my job is to put (and keep!) downtown Norcross on the map as a wonderful place to work and play!
