About Donald Flowers

I started worked fulltime when I was 15, since then I've worked grocery, CSR, Loan Specialist, Web Developer (Interactive Director), Legal Assistant to Senior Lawyer, IT for 10 years (desktops, laptops, tablets, game consoles, mobile phones), had very brief period in military (Navy, beginning 2007), Was close to entering Psych field as I have my own issues with it and have had a lot of vested interest and know everything I feel I could possibly know about it, I've already studied criminal justice, forensics and investigations a large part of my life, I did always have a very huge desire for mediums involving storytelling [went to some acting auditions when I was a kid], was semi involved in music in late teens-early 20s, and I started writing in my early 20s. I published my first novel in 2010 as a collabaration, published my complete solo works in 2017. Following that I started writing fiction of basically every genre, but winded up running into a network agent over social media one week and he said my writing talent was more suited for visual media so I began planning to eventually shoot for entertainment and gaming. I didn't return to college until 2018 and actually started my first company brand as sole propriator that same year as a media platform, I had ten years worth of outlines saved up to decide over time what to push to what platform. The following year I fell into a new company name with LLC license, but winded up with shady partner so it went sour and over that time I went from crew of 3 to 60 to 100, all seemed to be off with one being way too small, one just having unreliables and one being too large. I'd carry the projects on my back for next year and somehow finally found reliable and dedicated crew which I had hoped would last. I've done all manner of writing articles, blogs, essays, content writing for websites and others, ad/promotional, novel type adaptation, lyrical, and I've dabbled with screenwriting but need a refresh, now I'm familiar with most forms of game writing. Still technically attending SNHU in Game Programming and Development.

Our final brand since despite calling me over confident and ambitious was going to launch one way or another, I'm a vocalist as well and will release my own album at some point, thus far we have six singers/bands ready to sign when we actually launch it first of next year. We're currently accepting artist auditions as long as they're planned in advance and are accepting most genres.

I have the tech and the knowledge to not only do what big chains like Walgreens, CVS and Walmart do but more. And since I'm familiar with their prices I undercut, because it's too expensive. They only process 35mm, I process 8 different types, Their photos to dvd/cd cost 50-60 (it costs around 20 for a spindle of 50-100 disks, they likely pay the tech 10, and put rest in company. I'd charge maybe 15-20 and send it to you. I can also do passport photos and premium services. We also provide photo shoots for weddings, birthdays, holidays etc or video if you prefer. All prices are negotiable. We also have higher end editing and altering technology software for making enhancements, taking out red eye, we can even add color to black and white photo and last we restore photos, ie. If a photo is torn in half we can fix it and print one out like it never happened.

I've technically been writing for 20 years, but never had faith in myself even after 100+ 5 star ratings. It took one person to tell me one was amazing to get me to release everything and be maybe even over confident. I've had two books published, but now I pitch scripts to third party studios and write game documents for our game dev studio. I also used to be a lead singer and lyricist and if I ever get idle time want to release a solo album since I know the industries now.

I've got experience troubleshooting and repairing computers, tablets, mobile phones, game consoles and others. I chose to do it freelance because I don't like cheating people especially unless you have 30 certifications they pay you jack and charge customer 100+ even on easy jobs.

We're still technically a startup indie studio, but I've know at least 20 indie startups give up after a year or two and things just don't happen that quick. I came from a different background though, I knew business, management, marketing, umm more dirty type tactics, I never quit though and even became obsessed. And I realize most indie studios start with no budget and have to rely on revshare, which people thinks isn't really paying them[but they need a reality check, AAA studios don't hire people right out of college and normally want 2-3 years experience in studio setting which means it'll be indie, so most have to work that job free for three years, but if they stick at it then the release could come quicker. How I'm different is I find outside ways of bringing in profit and anything I bring in I split with entire crew.
  • Self-Employed
    Author
    Self-Employed Oct 2010 - Present
Was featured author in a collective book release with traditional publisher who pulled a fast one on us, self published a second book myself entitled "A Light in the Dark" to five star reviews initially.
  • Self-Employed
    Band Vocalist
    Self-Employed Feb 2000 - Present
Was vocalist and lyricist for a band called "Bound by Thorns", a mellow mixed genre type of rock, we technically broke it off in early 200s but have considered getting back together. Either way when I have idle time I work on the album we simply didn't know how industry worked then, I'm aware of how things go now.
  • Freelance
    Writer
    Freelance Aug 1998 - Present
My writing started young with mainly journal entries and poetry, I started releasing poetry very young and have now released over 300 poems. After that I began writing lyrics and kept some but we were selling others (until I grew up and realized I wasn't paid right), After I gave up on novels and publishing books, I spent the next 15-20 years writing outlines for entertainment and gaming. As for personal reasons I couldn't pursue my own business and those industries in general until I hit 30. I've done every type of writing aside from technical. That includes; Content for client websites, promotional writing, social media posts that would lure target audience in the most, editorial, essays, blogs, non fiction, fiction, and finally screenplays and documents related to game development. I still do freelance writing on the side once in a blue moon and I even teach classes on Udemy every other year.
  • Self-Employed
    Actor
    Self-Employed Jun 1997 - Present
I started as a child actor, my first auditions were commercials but I'll admit I hated them and wanted some good roles. I'm capable of doing live and voice acting (mostly creature character voices and I'm slowly regaining the ability to do varied accents and dialects.), live action taught me the most about acting with realistic emotion though. I still do voiceover from time to time.

  • Walgreens
    Shift Supervisor
    Walgreens Feb 2011 - Mar 2018
    Deerfield, Il, Us
supervised staff, delegated tasks, cross trained in pharmacy, photo, and others so I could fill in as needed. Checked trucks in, handled inventory, stocked, merchandised according to company standards, handling paperwork and tasks on the computer like payroll, conducted opening and closing procedures. Pharmacy: Only learned how to scan pickups up, never learned anything more advancedPhoto: I was once just a photo technician so I knew photo inside and out, all types of processing, passport photos, ship-off premium orders, and other thingsCashier: I've cash handled at almost every job I've had so clearly I knew how to cashier. Unlike the first go round my personality had changed, I rarely called the cops. After my last staff treating me like a plague for not taking on three guys with guns, I became aggressive with criminals in our store. Only time the cops were called was when it might've led to something to get me fired.
  • Walgreens
    Shift Lead
    Walgreens Dec 2010 - Jun 2014
    Deerfield, Il, Us
This time at Walgreens was different, I cared about them and they cared more about me than any employer. I handled all leadership type duties, plus cross trained a little in pharmacy, and knew photo lab inside and out. The difference this time (cause this wasn't a great part of this city), I decided to handle criminals myself. I rarely called the cops. Most would make me angry and think I was crazy or something so they'd leave (It says something when a guy whose 5'9 and small built like me runs off a guy around 6'4 and four times bigger. But hey my staff felt safe.
  • The Shoe Department
    Store Manager
The Shoe Department Apr 2017 - Sep 2018
Managed my own store and was sent to fix/save it more or less. The stock was outdated and bad selling. The store itself was a cluttered disaster, and their losses were 60% negative. After a mere 8 months I ordered popular merchandise that brought traffic within two weeks, the Store was thoroughly cleaned up and easy to shop. I hired some new employees that had pleasant attitudes and good sales intuition. In the end I turned the financials around to a 70% gain and although they requested be stay, I was basically obsessed enough I wasn't sleeping among other kitchens l problems so I moved back home.

  • The Shoe Department
    Store Manager
The Shoe Department Apr 2014 - Oct 2014
I was considered a savior manager, this wasn't the only store. I was a traveling store manager to help stores close to having to shut down and I did. The last store I managed had a terrible staff (fired most of them), they had outdated footwear that was out of style and no one would buy, they were very unorganized, some of the prices were wrong, and there was no foot traffic (meaning no customers) and that's weird with it being apart of the entrance to Walmart, perfect spot. They were sitting on 60% loss and a luxory store competitor was killing them and their shoes were expensive. Our store was a discount store. So what I did was scout the other store, observed how their staff acted, observed what shoes were being bought most, even placing flyers to promote our store close to their building. I then reordered almost every new shoe in the store with prices half of what competitors were, I cleaned up the store spotless, got it very organized and the staff I kept trained them with a comp book I write down everything I want them to know. Then I hired more staff. The staff I finally kept cause they had a good thing going told me they needed to quit because the company wouldn't give them a full 40 hours, only 20. Well I'm not a spineless manager, I called corporate up and said I have a perfect staff now, either they get 40 hours or I'll leave store and allow it to close. They granted my request, staff just had to decline medical benefits. In the end I caused the competitor store to close down and absorbed most of their staff. Found someone I wanted to replace me so I move onto the next location since we went up 70% profit and had tons of traffic. I mentored her and trained her almost excessively. But was happy, cause I think she made a great manager.

I spent most of my time out in the water, so can't really give an accurate location. Since it won't let me put my skills, I learned law enforcement related subjects just like anyone else in similar field, I learned how to handle certain weapons, I would patrol the ship or aircraft carrier I was on, but generally military brothers rarely got in trouble so it was kind of a job that seemed like it took care of itself.
