The system allowed the manufacturer to change the existing operational methodology allowing a 40% reduction in manufacturing cycle time through the shop. Analysis included computer simulations to aid the design of an automated material distribution system, warehouse conveyors, robotic cells and PWB shop layouts. In addition, capacity specifications for a multi site communication network and a market study of CAE/CAD/CAM tools for mechanical, electrical and software engineering were developed. Addressed evaluation of solid modeling, drafting and analysis tools, networking of workstations and configuration management of all data from conceptual design through manufacturing.
