As an Activities Assistant at the John T O'Connor Senior Center through The CAC Office on Aging, I played a vital role in planning events for socialization and enjoyment of senior citizens in a variety of settings. The CAC Office on Aging is a public nonprofit agency responsible for planning services for senior citizens in Knoxville and Knox County.In this role, I introduced classes for the computer lab and conducted Myers-Briggs personality assessments. I also planned a computer fair at the center and co-managed a very successful community health-fair and clinic that catered to over 600 seniors in the Knoxville area.Transitioning from working in early education to serving the senior community was a significant juxtaposition. However, this experience allowed me to develop essential skills such as event planning, effective communication, teamwork, and community involvement. I am grateful for the opportunity to have made a meaningful impact in the lives of senior citizens, and I look forward to continuing my commitment to service in the future.

As a Teachers Assistant and Positive Male Role Model in an Early Head Start program, I developed essential skills in education, childcare, classroom management, effective communication, and teamwork. I worked closely with 8 teachers to prepare and manage classes, support students during activities, and ensure proper development and progress assessments of young students.Additionally, as an alumni of Head Start and an underprivileged child myself, I am proud to have volunteered with the program. It was a rewarding experience, though initially challenging, as I was committed to being a positive influence and mentor for the children. Through my role as a Positive Male Role Model, I developed essential skills that are transferable to any industry, including effective communication, leadership, teamwork, and adaptability.My experience in the program also extended to ensuring proper nutrition and services for underprivileged children. This experience enabled me to appreciate the importance of community involvement and the impact that can be made by dedicating oneself to the betterment of society. I am confident that my dedication and commitment to making a meaningful impact in the lives of others will translate well to any venture I pursue, and I am excited to continue applying my skills and experience towards creating innovative solutions that improve people's lives.
