In the immunology department of HPI, I learned basic as well as some more advanced techniques revolving natural monoclonal autoantibodies in conjuction with a breast cancer cell line called MDA-MB-231, with the aim to use these mAbs, derived from patients suffering from monoclonal gammopathy, as possible killers of cancer cells or at least as carriers for chemotherapy drugs in a more specific targeting manner. Cancer Cell Culture, SDS-PAGE & IEF, Affinity Chromatography, Flow Cytometry and Graph Design, ELISA and Confocal Microscopy are some of the techniques and protocols I used in HPI.

Rapid cytopathology specimen processing, mainly pap test smears and thin preps 25% out of all the gynaecologist test paps in Athens at the time, ready for microscopical examination by a gynaecologist/microbiologist (labeling, colouring, baths, leveling, glueing).

I did not conduct my own research but synergized with MScs and PhDs and their protocols in the Molecular Pathological Anatomy Laboratory in the Medical School of Athens. Different protocols where used like DNA/RNA isolation, rt-PCR (methylation expression) & NGS with the aim of finding epigenetic mutations possibly playing a role in certain types of lung cancers.
