As a primary care coordinator, I facilitate therapeutic groups, fostering a safe and supportive environment for group members to share experiences, develop coping skills, and work towards their treatment goals. I develop individualized treatment plans for group members, outlining specific goals and interventions to address their needs. I maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes, group notes, treatment plans, comprehensive assessments, and discharge summaries. I provide one-on-one therapy sessions to clients as needed, addressing specific concerns and offering additional support. Additionally, I collaborate with my other team members to ensure comprehensive care for all of the clients.

I practiced problem-solving skills by dealing with the concerns of people daily. I increased my social skills by conversing with not only people who live in the area but also travelers from around the world. I have also learned to be more patient with others.

Over 10 weeks, I interned with the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office. This internship included rotations through various divisions, providing exposure to diverse functionalities within the MCSO. This experience solidified my interest in the collaboration of psychology and criminal justice. Each week, I worked in a different division which provided me with many different perspectives as well as the opportunity to be able to fully grasp each division's role within the Sheriff’s Office. Through this internship, I also spent time at the Monmouth County Correctional Institute where I identified a career path in correctional mental health. This internship helped foster growth in areas such as communication, organization, and comfort in challenging situations as well as provided a practical application of my criminal justice minor coursework.

I enhanced my creativity by gaining the ability to design and maintain a clothing department. I increased my social and problem-solving skills by learning to make smart and quick decisions about important store issues or customer concerns.
