My initial responsibilities was business manager for OEM products, followed by director of medical device marketing. Both were highly successful. Ultimately assigned VP of Gelman Sciences Technology, Inc. a newly formed division to commercialize a high-speed manufacturing process to manufacture and supply oleophobic microporous membranes via a UV polymerization process. The technology was multi-focused, including use in specialty medical markets and primarily to compete with Gore-Tex. We won an R&D 100 award for the first oleophobic membrane. The technology had several technical advantages, was easily price competitive, but not able to compete with the Gore-Tex brand. I left shortly thereafter.
