I work as part of a team of two software engineers designing and implementing software for the Antech BioCD Accuplex (canine heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichia canis and lyme disease) and canine heartworm testing platform composed of a blood serum sampling robot and a fluorescence reader which controls both machines and analyzes the resulting data to determine the presence of these diseases.Our work is currently primarily done in C#, however the previous version of the software was written in Java. We've recently finished a complete ground up rebuild of the software for the release of a new version of the serum sampling robots. Working in a small team to do a complete redesign of the software has provided a lot of great experience. While communication is key between myself and the lead software engineer, I have been able to show that I can take over portions of the code without a lot of input. This setup also requires that both of us take ownership of the product including occasional emergency support.A portion of my work with both versions of the software has been network and database related. I was in charge of implementing a reporting feature that submits all data from all labs to a central database for gathering weekly failure reports. I have also reimplemented this in the new version of the software using the WCF service model. On the new version of the software I have additionally implemented a sharing system using WCF services and service discovery for on the fly sharing of data between machines. As part of this work, I have recently been requested to develop multiple automated reports that are generated using python scripts gathering data from the central MySQL database.

During this period I helped my Master's adviser with some research in the interim between completing my M.S. and beginning work at Antech Diagnostics.

Assistant for CSCI 23000 the introductory course for Computer Science majors at IUPUI. Primary responsibilities include instructing in the lab, grading, and one-on-one help for the students. This course teaches introductory Computer Science concepts using the Python programming language.

Instructor of the CSCI department's N301 Fundamental Computer Science Concepts course. This course aims to teach non-major students basics of computer science such as: number systems (binary/octal/hexadecimal including floating point and signed systems), Boolean algebra, basic circuit design, algorithms, and other related topics. My primary responsibilities were preparing and providing lectures, running the lab, grading assignments, and providing one on one assistance to students.

I currently work with the CSCI 23000 Computing I course which is the initial degree course for the computer science department at IUPUI. I work as lab support for students, grader, offer office hours, and am the primary point of contact for students in the distributed education section of the course. I have supported this class in both Java and Python.

I have been a grader, lab assistant, or teaching assistant for several classes offered by the computer science department. The primary course that I have worked with is C programming. Other courses include Introduction to Computers and Computing, Data Analysis Using Spreadsheets, Introduction to Databases, and Advanced Database Programming(Oracle). I have also helped in the Distributed Education lab for Visual Basic programming and Introduction to Web Development.

I did a basic three month internship here. This was a great experience and gave me the chance to see how the software development process works at a startup and in the real world.
