Assisting in research conducted by one of my lecturer's PhD students, I was able to enhance my skills in the following ways:- Managed time, the research was animal research and required regular maintenance and recording at odd hours of the day (notably 12 am and 4 am).- Took cell samples and recorded chick measurements that are small and fast, we needed to ensure our recording and detailing were fast and as detailed as possible as we only had a small time window to collect samples.- Worked in a team, many tasks had to be completed by 2 people at least, which meant that I had to develop the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully.

Working in the dog adoptions section for at minimum one day at week (4 hours) whilst continuing full-time study and casual work.Maintained, cleaned, and looked after dog enclosures as well as provided enrichment and exercise. A valued member of the team, I show my support and valuable dedication to a place helping the community. Through GAWS I am able to help provide warmth and love to animals in need, whilst simultaneously communicating the importance of animal welfare to the community.

Working with a team I was required to pack various products and make decisions on what would be beneficial for my partner that day. Answering phone calls and communicating with the public were small parts of my job but mainly I was responsible for maintaining a sanitary and clean environment to pack products in an efficient, fast, and beautiful way. Ensuring each product was done to top standard and labeled correctly I had to pay close attention to detail as well as continuing to work at a fast-paced speed. Considered a valued and well-known team member, I was also responsible for packing orders for airports and stores around Australia, these were often large quantities upwards of 200 products.

Uganda, Africa

I visited The Peace Centre Orphanage in Uganda for 3 weeks and helped prepare meals and educate children. This was an incredibly rewarding experience and made me appreciate that there is always something that you can do for someone else.Key achievements:- Developed a lesson on teeth that I then used to educate a classroom of students on biological science and teeth- Assisted in cooking and cleaning around the orphanage, as well as contributing to the building of shelters and clearing space for a trampoline- Entertained the children through various activities and shows we performed, read, danced, and played with the kids
