Investigated, identified and resolved power quality issues on the distribution feeders, utilizing measurements and analyses. Developed material specifications to acquire robust T&D pole line equipment to function efficiently during normal and severe environmental conditions, with the following activities:• Developed specifications for all T&D equipment in accordance with reputable International Standards, such as: NESC, CSA, ANSI, EPRI, IEEE, IEC, IET, CIGRE, NERC and WECC.• Developed material bulletins for all new materials entering the T&D systems.• Conducted training on the proper usage of all new materials and tools entering the T&D systems.• Reviewed customers’ damage claim forms and research JPS fault data history and other incident reports to ascertain if there was any correlation between customers’ damage claims and JPS fault/incident reports. Prepared and submitted reports of the findings of respective customer claim. • Installed “power quality data recorders” at strategic locations on the distribution network to record power quality related events. Then, downloaded and analysed the data. These activities helped to reconcile customers’ claims in a timely manner, as well as provide supporting evidence to improve the distribution network. Subsequently, the power quality related issues and customer claims have reduced considerably.
