Applied special grounding/earthing and lightning protection designs for distribution systems which are located in areas with high soil resistivity and high lightning activities.• Designed distribution network to improve voltage regulation and power factor, such as installing voltage regulators and capacitor banks at strategic locations.• Designed ground/earthing systems for transformer, voltage regulator, capacitor bank and switch locations• Liaised with local planning agencies, parish council and land owners and discussed prospective lines and cables installations and negotiate permission and easement requirement. • Performed economics assessment of medium to long term distribution network improvement and life cycle costs of power system equipment • Liaised with local planning agencies and developers to ascertain prospective development and loading requirements for futuristic projects.• Obtained switching authorization to operate all type of switches and circuit breakers on the distribution network.

Investigated, identified and resolved power quality issues on the distribution feeders, utilizing measurements and analyses. Prepared and submitted reports of the findings of respective customer claim. • Installed “power quality data recorders” at strategic locations on the distribution network to record power quality related events. Then, downloaded and analysed the data. These activities helped to reconcile customers’ claims in a timely manner, as well as provide supporting evidence to improve the distribution network. Subsequently, the power quality related issues and customer claims have reduced considerably.
