My current role as a Shopping and Products Editor at BuzzFeed is multifaceted. In addition to writing about and researching products (with a specialty in gadgets, Disney products, and gaming items), editing posts from our freelancers and my colleagues, and vetting partners to work with within our affiliate program, I can also be found organizing social bonding activities for my team. I love discovering new small businesses and incorporating them into my content and finding top selling products you didn’t know you needed.

My role as Babble and Disney Family's editorial coordinator includes many different tasks. From maintaining a relationship with content creators and creating blogger contracts to managing synergy pieces within the company and creating entertainment pieces, I continue to grow my skills on a daily basis. In addition to the previously mentioned tasks, I maintain our editorial calendar, spearhead planning sessions for company priorities, and source potential news stories throughout the day (among other things). My diverse role allows me to take on a variety of responsibilities for the team.

My responsibilities as a Professional Editorial Intern for Babble include copy editing posts, writing timely entertainment pieces, building slideshows on WordPress, collecting data analytics using Omniture, and taking on various other editorial projects. I hold a lot of responsibility in regards to our partnership reports. I obtain the traffic daily and create a monthly summary of it. I also send out a morning traffic forecast report to our team members to set a tone for the traffic numbers we should be reaching each day. Additionally, I have enhanced my abilities to complete deadlines in a timely manner as well as balancing and completing multiple projects at once. I have gained a lot of knowledge about the online publishing field thus far into my program.

I have had multiple featured posts as a Community Contributor to Buzzfeed, specifically on the community page, the books page, the rewind page, and the front page. I’ve collected over 3 million views for about 50 posts as well as viral traffic across the Internet. I’ve also been named a Top 10 user, had an article in the Top 50 on the front page, been featured as one of the top 50 Community Posts for 2013, been classified as a part of the top 1% of Buzzfeed Community Contributors for 2014, and have been selected as a founding member of the Buzzfeeders Community Forum. Additionally, I have recently received recognition for being one of the top 100 Buzzfeed Community Contributors for 2014.
