I'm responsible for the management of resources (Human, HW, SW and 3rd party) on Lenovo Innovation Center. Responsible for the R&D center operations, including Talents hiring and training , budget planning, tools (HW/SW) procurement and acquisition, negotiation with partners. Key negotiator with partners research institutes and universities as Instituto Eldorado, FIT(Flextronics Institute of Technology), Unicamp (Inova), Universidade Federal do Ceará e Instituto Federal do Ceará. 18 direct reports. Reporting to R&D Director (Brazil) - I’ve managed the internal and external R&D resources, ensuring the goals and performance achievement.- I hired the whole R&D development team and defined / contracted the necessary training to ensure the quality of the operation. The first projects delivered the product on schedule, and the rework minimization. -I leaded the team on a project to redesign the WW configuration site for Enterprise products, including the usability analysis and technologies choices. Reporting to the Enterprise Architecture Executive Director - I've managed the end to end implementation of Lenovo Innovation Center in Unicamp (Campinas-SP)This process included the negotiation and contracts signature with Unicamp officials and over 15 MUS$ grants negotiation with SP state. Planned and executed hiring process, real state, budgeting, contracting , etc.- Interfaced and drive the project to key organizations within Lenovo, as Legal, HR, Engineering, Finance , Real State and R&D.- Improved R&D utilization to 5.1 MUS$ (Over 100% average growth year over year, from 2010 to 2012). - Implemented control process for IT law R&D obligation within Lenovo. In charge of supply chain development / optimization and products cost management, under the worldwide OEM Procurement Director. Developed business cases for sourcing new products, designed and implemented cost reduction projects. Achieved outstanding results. Reporting to the Supply Chain Director- Achieved $13.5 million in cost avoidance and sales increase for a new product line from less than 1,000 to over 15,000 units per months (with continual growth) by spearheading launch of 2 ODMS operations in Brazil. Enabled Lenovo’s entrance into the Brazil consumer market. Earned recognition from management for efforts in promoting revenue increase- $5.3 million in cost savings through selecting, qualifying and defining two new motherboard (PCBA) suppliers and implementing a quotation process for every new motherboard produced in Brazil.- Led development of 2 low-cost desktop families, interacting with the Business Unit, development, quality, and local ODM teams. Achieved $40 cost reduction per unit (10%) compared to traditional desktops, with 60,000 units shipped in 1 year (2.4 MUSD cost reduction)- Successfully negotiated agreements between ODMs and CMs in Brazil for local manufacturing, targeting compliance to PPB rules while keeping costs competitive. - Lead “Green Package Project” with cost savings over $1.0 million per year (project introduced within the desktop category.) Savings from $5 to $10 per unit reduction compared to former Lenovo standard).- 2.5% cost decrease ($17 per unit) through driving Quanta ODM main freight model from air to ocean, including required actions to avoid supply and flexibility impacts.

I was responsible for the areas of image e test development & qualification of local parts that enabled the local CTO operations. Additionally I managed the PDM team , which loaded and maintain Product Data and cost Data within major HP LA systems. At the end of this period I was requested to accumulate the cost management in Brazil. Reporting to the LATAM Sr. Director- Led the CTO system implementation and transition from legacy to worldwide HP system, as well as the development and launch of 3 consumer notebooks and selected desktop models through SW Preload/Test.- Hired top-performing professionals and contributed to the advancement of team members through training and mentoring. Increased level of accountability and performance across entire team.- Achieved a $700,000 annual cost reduction through worldwide procurement teams engagement on motherboard kit cost reduction. Implemented local parts pricing activities to ensure materials cost tracking and actions to reduce them.- Managed the implementation in Brazil for an HP worldwide cost system and the start-up operations with Foxconn Brazil which led to unit cost reductions of $20 for desktops and $40 for notebooks in average

In charge of supplier operations involving notebooks, including engineering, quality, NPI/product, fulfillment operations, and cost management functions. Interacted with order management, planning, engineering, NPI, and product marketing managers to address and resolve issues. - Facilitated a 350% growth in notebook volumes, representing increase from 3,000 to over 15,000 per month in a 20-month period. Launched low-cost commercial notebook, leveraging consumer notebook platform.- Achieved a $1.6 million cost savings in one year through transition from partial consignment of parts to full turnkey operations with Solectron, leading to inventory reduction; awarded by management for efforts in this endeavor. Extended Solectron contract through RFQ for Brazil supplier.- Captured a $450,000+ annual cost savings through integration of quality improvement and services events rate project that allowed for a decrease in services events for notebooks and desktops. Reduced Brazil cost $20+ per unit through cost control of parts acquired from China ODMS and negotiations with commodity managers.- Implemented configure-to-order (CTO) manufacturing within supplier line, avoiding 2nd touch for complex configuration; enabled Brazil manufacturing for several notebook families.
