Conducted research in mobile robotics and computer vision using DARwIn-OP humanoid robots. Designed time-synchronized controller and camera system enabling robot to localize itself and tracktagged objects. Achieved low controller latency, position estimate accuracy below 3 cm.

Ran weekly clinic for introductory engineering courses, including Mechanics and Digital Systems. Explained theoretical concepts and assisted students with problem sets and C programming.

Worked on the Gmail backend team to design, build, and test a new tool for load-balancing Gmail users between machines based on activity level. Ran over twenty experiments deploying the activity balancer in production and demonstrated much more consistent CPU usage among previously imbalanced sets of servers. Wrote thorough documentation for tool usage and gave a presentation to the Gmail site reliability team, successfully ensuring that tool would still be in use a year after departure.

Taught a class on Java programming for high school students, two afternoons a week. Designed curriculum based on the ACM Java teaching library, and created lesson plans for each meeting,balancing theoretical rigor with engaging applications in graphics and game design. Enthusiastic feedback from both students and parents.

Researched DNSSEC and tested company server products for support of related features and configuration options. Reported several bugs and updated internal documentation. Compiled findings into a customer-facing online support manual on DNSSEC, providing comprehensive documentation and usage examples for company software in regard to relevant features.

Developed AJAX web applications for company websites in PHP and JQuery. Specific features included a newsletter publication manager, a tool to inspect SEO data, and enhancements to the forum system.
