Responding to the COVID-19 pandemic the company was reorganized into one division working on existing products, and another developing consumer/home oriented products. I partnered with our CEO to lead the latter team of ~10. Together we created "the home projector of the future" and brought it to a market-ready stage. Based on this product, the company was sold to a large online bookstore.

I joined Lightform to bring their awesome projection mapping hardware onto the internet. During my time as the cloud team lead I built out the backend that enabled command & control of Lightform devices, as well as user account management for both device control and our customer support system. I also created the architecture to allow that control to happen by API, web frontend, IFTTT, and the Lightform Creator desktop software. I wrote the backend and frontend myself, and led the integration into the device firmware and desktop software.

Part of a cross functional team of front end and back end engineers, product managers, and designers working to grow best-in-class mileage tracking product into a complete finance and productivity platform for self-employed using Akka, Slick, and Postgres.Proposed, designed, and built highly scalable (via functional decomposition, and horizontal duplication)worker library using sqs, akka streams and, scala. Used it to move resource intensive operations off of api instances so they could be scaled down. Worked with infrastructure team to deploy horizontal workers as the first production system on their new nomad setup using docker, vault, consul, and prometheus.Proposed, designed, and in the process of implementing company wide unification of authentication andauthorization systems under a single external api surface. Involving working closely with all engineering teams in the company for achievable timelines and minimal interruption to the user.Worked with data science and product teams to implement Stride’s first data science models in production, along with the customer facing features they drive.
