Lead adult acute therapist working with in patient acquired swallowing and communication disorders, with a focus on general medical wards.Caseload predominantly of dysphagia followed by aphasia and motor speech disorders. Leading on videofluoroscopy clinics as required. Responsible devising and teaching on a training programme for the education of 150+ hospital aides on dysphagia and the role of the SLT it its management. Assisted with the implementation of cough reflex testing in the hospital and the roll-out of a nurse dysphagia screen incorporating this on the acute stroke unit.

Work areas included General medicine, General surgery and neurology. Gained competence in conducting Cough reflex testing (CRT) and Videofluoroscopy (VFS) clinically.
