End to end implementation of marketing analytic software. Work focuses on analytic query engine and language, design of algorithms, reporting application, regression modeling application, simulation application, testing infrastructure, acceptance testing, configuration tools, and playing online Scrabble. Technologies includes Java, Javascript, Struts, Tiles, Hibernate, JSP, JXL, JFreeChart, XML, and others.

As part of the SQL DSS OLAP team, we wrote extensions to the SQL language intended for use in data warehousing and data mining applications for advanced analytics. Our centerpiece was the SQL Model clause (released as part of Oracle 10g), which allowed the creation of a multi-dimensional subquery built on top of the transformed and partitioned output of a relational query. We also worked on SQL analytic functions and other features such as ordered and cumulative aggregations, ranking, and materialized views. My responsibilities included extending the parser, algorithm design, subfeature implementation, testing, and helping to write papers for academic and industrial conferences. I was a coauthor of the 2003 SIGMOD/PODS best paper, Spreadsheets in RDBMS for OLAP, which described the implementation and use of what would become the SQL Model clause. All coding was done in C using Oracle's internal libraries.
