Conducting research in methods for Natural Language Processing and Linguistic problems

- Developed materials for Emeritus and CMU joint online courses: Fundamentals of Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing.- Responsibilities include creating assignments, debugging and reviewing code, reviewing videos, creating content accuracy guidelines

- Assisted a course of roughly 450 students- During Fall 2019, led a team of 4 TAs to be in charge of course materials on specific weeks.- Designed homeworks, recitation notes, and exam problems; Graded homeworks and exams; Held office hours and recitations; Answered questions on Piazza

- Built predictive models from UPMC clinical data to assist healthcare professionals- Wrote Spark applications in Scala that pre-process data, select features with reliefF algorithm, and integrate cost-sensitive learning with MetaCost algorithm- Tested and tuned the performance of the machine learning pipeline

- Led summer session with 10 TAs and 60 students- Planned daily recitations, weekly and exam review sessions- Held office hours and handled course logistics
