Starting my journey from academia into an industry software role. I'm studying and blogging about the data formats and algorithms used by the Mercurial version control system by writing a rust implementations of some of Mercurial's functionality.

Primary maintainer of the yt project, an open source toolkit for analyzing and visualizing 3D simulation data with a physically motivated interface that abstracts over the complexities of data formats and structures. As Co-PI, wrote and won a $1,000,000 NSF grant to fund yt development. Released unyt, a Python library for doing computations with physical units. Facilitated the day-to-day running of the yt project, performing code review, issue triage, fixing bugs, and led efforts to add major new capabilities to improve memory efficiency and scaling when working with very large multi-terabyte research datasets.
