Performs on-site construction management, condition assessment, commissioning, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing of dockside material handling equipment. Responsible for conceptual and detailed design of mechanisms and systems. Develops design and detailed drawings suitable for manufacture. Reviews contractors’ designs for feasibility and contract compliance. Reviews container crane controls including logic, interlocks, system architecture, and automation features. Develops and customizes various in-house mechanical analysis, analytical modeling, and project tracking software to support project activities.

TransHoist Engineering has now been absorbed back into its parent company, McKay International Engineers, which will continue to provide all services that TransHoist was known for: Assisting clients with purchasing custom heavy equipment by performing needs assessment, developing technical specifications, preparing and distributing bid packages, evaluating proposals, and advising during negotiation of technical requirements. Performing manufacturing and design review, and assisting with testing and acceptance of new equipment.

The UCLA Co-Motion Laboratory was a joint effort between UCLA and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory designed to study the implementation of coordinated effort between multiple semi-autonomous robots. It focused primarily on algorithms and sensor processing to allow the robots to work in a cooperative manner with minimal input from human controllers. I supported this work by designing and manufacturing prototype circuit boards, controllers, and mechanical systems for use in locomotion and position sensing. My work also included simulation and animation of various mechanical systems for studying bipedal gait modes.

Worked as a summer intern in the Information Technology department as a software and systems designer and later as a system administrator and tester in the Workstation Integration and Systems Engineering work group. Was responsible for designing software systems to allow tracking of mainframe usage to various cost centers. Designed and implemented a company wide electronic forms system to allow database data to be integrated into high quality electronic forms. Performed testing and evaluation of new software and hardware for company wide implementation. Maintained and assisted with deployment of a new company wide distributed email system (cc:Mail).
