I'm a software engineer and quantitative trader. I graduated with a BSc in Computer Science at the end of 2019, and soon after, began to dabble into the world of securities trading. During the Covid pandemic, I honed in my trading skills and it was only a matter of time before I decided to marry this new found passion of mine, with my original passion (building software). In late 2020, after a little research, I discovered Alpaca (https://www.alpaca.markets), $0 commission algorithmic trading broker and set about, familiarizing myself with their trading API. Then I set about building a back trading framework on this API which is now a live open source project (https://www.github.com/drayarms/backtrader). I continue to design and experiment on various machine learning based trading strategies in a quest to come up with a profitable strategy.My other passions include writing, musical instruments, and strength training.
