The Alray Scholars Program is a nonprofit organization with the mission of giving Boston students a second chance at college. We provide scholarships, mentoring, and career services to Boston adults pursuing post-secondary education after having left without a degree on their first attempts.

Board support and liaison: Coordinate all logistics and contents for board and board committee meetings, including scheduling meetings, creating agendas and materials, briefing organizational leadership and key board members, and recording meeting minutes. Staff development and management: Coordinate all logistics and contents for staff meeting, retreats, and socials. Facilitate flow of information throughout the team, especially to and from the leadership team. Advance cross-functional projects and decision-making. Strategy & planning: Lead staff through annual work planning process. Co-led staff's justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) task force to ensure JEDI is incorporated into all of organization's work and structures. Prepare research, analysis, and recommendations to support decision-making of the leadership team.Learning, research, and evaluation: Create and execute a qualitative evaluation of the program, including designing surveys and interview guides and using AtlasTI to code qualitative data.

Grant writing and reporting: Draft compelling applications and required progress and final reports to corporate and foundation funders Prospect research: Identify potential corporation and foundation funding opportunities in youth development and health and fitness in the New England region

Manage projects that contribute to the growth and success of the consulting practice, including supporting growth and professional development for 2 staff members and developing and implementing knowledge management protocols, such as project reflections, deliverable templates and exemplars, and database trackingLead and oversee research and production of client-ready deliverables for consulting projects. Examples of work include developing assessment tools and training materials on monitoring nonprofit organizational health and advising a national advocacy organization on the development of a business plan for an earned revenue strategyConduct primary and secondary research (interviews, surveys, focus groups, benchmarking, online searches and review of literature/reports) to understand market trends, data and evidence within a given field, best practices, and client positioning and value proposition

Partnerships Building and Management: Develop partnerships with area colleges and universities to ensure that Let's Get Ready college students matriculate into and graduate from supportive institutionsProgram Development and Implementation: Oversee the development and implementation of Let's Get Ready's college success programming for low-income and/or first-generation college students in the New England region. Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer college mentors to build relationships with high school and college students and motivate students towards college matriculation and graduation.

Curriculum Development and Implementation: Created and revised project and portfolio-based curricula to develop work readiness skills in homeless and foster youth. Facilitated work readiness workshops to groups of 10-20 youth. Program Management: Managed a summer employment program for 50 youth, with responsibilities including guiding youth through application process, managing youth's hiring paperwork, and facilitating weekly professional development seminars.
