Oversight of project planning, resourcing and scheduling relating to the prototyping of advanced MEMS components, with an aim to move prototypes into volume manufacturing. Specific duties include project costing, technical assessment of risk, development of manufacturing solutions, validation of yielded components, process development through vendors, technical and project level interactions with clients and fab level fabrication, inspection and troubleshooting. Additional duties include intra-department consultation and dissemination on technical matters, mentoring and training of junior employees and direct reporting to company executive on critical project details.

Responsibilities include design, fabrication and testing of MEMS devices, focusing on innovative and manufacturable solutions. MEMS technologies developed over this time include optoelectronic devices, inertial sensors, wafer-level packaged MEMS using through-silicon-via (TSV) technologies, ultrasonic transducers and silicon-based microfluidic devices. Directly involved at all technical levels from device structure and layout to hands-on fabrication experience including advanced lithographic, deposition and etch tools, new process development and post-process measurements and analysis of device performance. Also involved in project planning, scheduling and coordination between internal teams, vendors and customers. Additional responsibilities include travel to vendors for engineering oversight and to conferences/exhibitions for continued learning and exposure to market trends and directions.
