Apart from being on this project to learn, my position is to assist my mentor in managing a zone consisting of six blocks of four-storey buildings, as well as oversee the work done by the Structures Foreman and their teams on a daily basis; update them on changes on the programme and follow up on progress. I also assist in the effective running of the concrete testing and cube manufacturing labs. This is where we perform slump tests and also make small cube samples to to further tested for strength.The R2,5 billion hospital is a level 2 regional hospital that is located near the Bridge City mall, north of Durban. The hospital will have 500 beds. The hospital will serve as a referral centre for all surroundings public healthcare facilities and will alleviate the pressure from Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital which currently has a huge catchment area.
