About Nam-Huy Leduc

A lifelong student of public health, sustainability, and the concept of interdependence, I am someone who actively seeks connections that benefit every level of society. It can be community-based, policy-oriented, or just daily-life habits; however, the essence is always balance. Today, health is the web that connects all progress. To address the social and economic determinants of health, it is important to recognize the interwoven associations between physical, mental, and environmental health. My experiences in education, government, agriculture, nonprofits, and healthcare contribute to a growing worldview that collaboration is key across all disciplines. At the University of Washington, my training in public health expanded to include the One Health paradigm. It is an interdisciplinary approach that recognizes the intrinsic link between human, animal, plant, and environmental health, which aims to address a number of complexities our world faces today. With this perspective, I found myself drawn toward the university's urban farm CSA program and helping it obtain USDA-certified organic status. Food and nutritional diet was a cornerstone of preventive public health. My focus then became supporting communities in a meaningful way by working with an environmental nonprofit organization known as the Solana Center. My role as educator allowed me to find innovative ways to engage with the community via workshops, outreach events, webinars, and working diligently with city and county of San Diego to promote the ordinance for organic waste diversion in the state of California. This quickly shaped my lifelong passion toward compost education, big and small. This year, I turn a new leaf and have begun an exciting chapter of life on the East Coast, in search of finding purposeful connections with organizations and individuals that share a similar vision in serving our precious communities and our shared environment. The intersection of public health, climate change, regenerative agriculture, and waste diversion are fields of study that I hope to educate people about. Additionally, a personal training I enjoy sharing about is the dedicated practice of a healthy mind.

Listed skills include Leadership, Critical Thinking, Organizational Effectiveness, Team Leadership, and 26 others.
