At Elizabeth F. Gamble Garden, I work as an Edible Garden and Youth Programs Coordinator. In this role, I co-manage a 20-bed edible garden which includes: landscape design, planning, planting and plant care, mitigating irrigation issues, and nursery management. My daily duties include planting, transplanting, watering, plant research, pest management, and general plant care. As a youth program coordinator, I co-create garden-based curriculum for onsite field trips to the garden for second and third-grade classes in Palo Alto. I also teach this curriculum to other educators and volunteers for our field trips before teaching it to the kids.

I serve as a California Climate Action Corps summer 23 member. This summer I am serving my term as an Urban Greening and Outreach Fellow with Our City Forest. As an outreach fellow, I worked with my cohort in the OCF outreach department, helping to take phone calls and emails from the public about the services offered by OCF. I also spend 4 days a week doing field work; anything from planting trees throughout San Jose to flyering for our events, to coordinating and overseeing volunteer days, and my favorite working in the OCF nursery taking care of the various trees, shrubs, and plants they grow and propagate.At OCF, we are encouraged to find our passion projects and take action towards them. My passion project was starting the conversation between OCF and the Tamien and Muwekema Ohlone tribes, whose ancestral lands we work on. This was done with the hope of adding accurate indigenous names for the native plants we had in our educational wilderness center.

At CasiVision, I serve as the business development manager for the first US subsidiary of Chinese company Casivision Technology. In this role, I utilize my knowledge of Mandarin to translate documents from Mandarin to English and vice versa. My work is focused on ensuring our PR and client packets are, not only understandable, but also include all the moving parts needed to proceed with global partnerships. This role also encompasses a large element of supply chain management, where I had to learn this skill on the fly and apply it to create accurate client and product portfolios. These portfolios often include multiple product descriptions, time-tracking spreadsheets, and data-driven graphs that I translate from Mandarin to English.
