I’ve been actively involved in IDA’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion programme since joining the organisation in 2019, formally stepping into the EDI Lead role in July 2021. My career started in the Hospitality sector with Hilton Hotels in Florida (which seems a lifetime ago!), and has brought me across the ocean to find new experiences in the wonderfully diverse Irish workforce. From identifying training needs to establishing progression paths and employee engagement surveys, I’ve been privileged to be part of teams that grow my knowledge of Learning & Development, Human Resources and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion. There’s never a dull moment to be sure! I love that EDI creates space for uniqueness in the day-to-day. These initiatives help us to find new ways to include diversity of thought in both planning and execution. We get to learn and evolve how we bring ourselves to work and that is the basis for innovation and lasting success.
