Stakeholders Data InternBloomberg Lp May 2015 - Aug 2015New York, Ny, UsI worked Stakeholders Data Intern at Bloomberg during Summer 2015. During my time, I assisted the Stakeholders team with day to day tasks, such as processing Form 4 documents, as well as larger projects. On one such project, I cleaned up approximately 1000 People and Client IDs, a unique code identifying users and companies in the Bloomberg system, resulting in a greater amount of financial documents being published to the Terminal automatically. Within that project, I utilized Crowdflower, a crowdsourcing platform, to simplify and hasten the collection of the data needed to find companies and individuals in the Terminal, resulting in data being collected for roughly 500 people. I assisted my supervisor on a project related to the activity of activist investors. Using aggregated fundamental data points imported from the Terminal into Excel, I created 3 spreadsheets depicting the changes in the holdings of institutional investors for 75 firms that underwent activist campaigns. The team and I used those findings to identify trends in institutional holdings during the life of an activist campaign. I wrote and presented to the team a two page analysis summarizing these results. In addition, I made significant contributions to a winning intern project. I worked within a team of six other interns to "create" a new function on the Bloomberg Terminal, which, at the end of the internship, was to be displayed in a science fair style presentation to the Bloomberg staff, who then voted for the winners. My team set out to combine the Terminal's supply chain function with its mapping function to create a large supply chain map. I developed important data driven features for the map, including overlays of news, weather, and various risk. As a member of the winning team, alongside my team I presented the supply chain map function in a private meeting with Bloomberg's Head of Global Data. -
