The ADAPT Centre, funded by Science Foundation Ireland focuses on developing next generation digital technologies that transform how people communicate by helping to analyse, personalize and deliver digital data more effectively for businesses and individuals. My research in Adapt is with respect to user Quality of Experience of Augmented and Virtual Reality applications.

Confirm is the Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre for Smart Manufacturing. The Centre benefits from expertise across eight core research performing organisations in Ireland and 16 international collaborations. My role is involves leading research and industry interaction on the application of Human Machine Interfaces (inclusive of Augmented and Virtual Reality) in Smart Manufacturing.

PhD: “Quality of Experience derived Olfaction-enhanced Multimedia Synchronization” The purpose of this project was to evaluate the user perception of multimedia enhanced with olfaction, the sense of smell. The project, via subjective studies has provided novel data and understanding of users’ quality of multimedia experience. Another key aspect of this work was the development of a utility model to estimate user quality of experience of olfaction enhanced multimedia.
