Working in BT Enterprise which delivers communications and IT services to businesses and public sector organisations in the UK and Ireland with a turnover of £6,292m. Responsible for planning and executing large migration programs that transition our customers from legacy platforms to IP Voice services.
Developed the migration strategy and policies for the latter stages of the Future Voice program balancing regulatory compliance with customer needs and optimising the technology strategy. Assessment and delivery of solutions for immediate strategic risks.
I led the largest portfolio of BT products in terms of revenue and margin. I was responsible for the Group Voice Strategy that guided the company for the next 3 to 5 years, driving executive level decisions on long term balanced portfolio strategy. I also oversaw the capital expenditure allocation process for Voice products ensuring all investment was strategically aligned. I was the Group representative on numbering, unified communications boards and support cross group initiatives and aid other parts of the business in the creation of their investment papers.During my time in this role I initiated a company wide assessment of the future of voice and drove alignment across the various divisions on issues such as numbering and IP Communications.
I started this role working on the Voice portfolio.- Provided analysis of the voice markets - Developed the migration strategies for 21CN voice in terms of volumes, cost, customer experience and transfer engineering leading to a saving of £110 million to the overall business case.I then became the portfolio lead for the Wholesale Broadband Connect (WBC) product where I developed a ROI Model. Using revenue defence as a premise and maximising the return on investment, this model that determined the capital expenditure funding for WBC in 10/11 which was subsequently used by the business to underpin their 3 year roll out strategy. I have also delivered projects on areas such as BT’s Operational Capacity during the Olympics 2012 and BT Business Sales Channels.
Led this team to bring together the ideas and methods to run deep dives to guide all Customer Experience teams, as well as leading deep dives directly. For example I led the investigation into the Lead to Cash process of MPF in Openreach. Ofcom threatened an investigation if BT did not take decisive steps to improve MPF performance. I drove MPF Right First Time performance from 75% to 90% in three months.
In this role I led projects to improve the BT customer experience in the UK and abroad, was the E2E coach for the Wholesale CIO and delivered E2E training around the UK.Examples of delivery:• BT MPLS Standard DSL – This project mapped the MPLS Standard DSL Lead to Cash process which was the first piece of work that accurately defined BT’s lead-times and was used as the reference document by Senior Management.• Radianz/Reuters – Primary consultant in developing the Lead to Cash analysis that delivered into the due diligence process and identified key risks in taking on the contract.• Infonet (Los Angeles) – Principal consultant for the Lead to Cash analysis and integrated information from the other projects (Albacom, Radianz, and BT MPLS) which delivered recommendations for best practice in the delivery of MPLS across the business.
Planned, conducted and produced feasibility studies for BTW and BTR product lines. Areas of work included Broadband, Partial Private Circuits, Major Business, responding to Ofcom and contributing to ‘White Papers’.
Built a test environment, test team and protocols for this screen based planning tool for exchange planners.
Led a technical team that supported PC users and company wide applications.
