From negotiating public-private investments in lower Manhattan to managing two of Washington, DC's most significant Federal projects, Nia Francis has a full breadth of real estate experience spanning over two decades. Most recently as a principal manager in two of the U.S. General Services Administration's consolidation projects for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, 2.1 million GSF, and the Department of Homeland Security, 4 million GSF, Nia manages entitlements, environmental studies, financial analysis, site selection, and a team of various experts.Her prior experience in the nation's capital included acquisition and entitlement work for CarrAmerica, acquired by Blackstone for $5.6 billion and negotiated land disposition and development deals on behalf of the Anacostia Waterfront Corporation with Monument Realty and Forest City Washington. In New York City, Nia negotiated on behalf of the NYC Economic Development Corporation major mixed-use projects in New York City with The Related Companies, Forest City Ratner, and others on projects such as South Street Seaport. Nia began her career in construction management for Lend Lease.Nia serves on the Executive Committee for the Women's Leadership Initiative at the Urban Land Institute. She is also a member of Lambda Alpha and a graduate of the Regional Land Use Leadership Program at the Urban Land Institute.
