I am a current student at Temple University, pursuing a degree in Social Work. I have years of customer service experience, working at food service establishments across the Greater Philadelphia Area. I started a career path working in recovery in January 2023, working directly in patient care at a local drug and alcohol rehab. Through my years of experience in customer service, I have been able to translate those skills to patient care. I strive to show up with empathy, understanding, and a listening ear in my current roles. In January 2024 I took another career directional step as a Peer Group Facilitator for Plume, a role working with transgender individuals. I received my Certified Recovery Specialist certification in May of 2024. I now work at Temple University Health Systems as a Certified Recovery Specialist. I work alongside Project Home in the Hospital to Housing program, offering housing and recovery support to patients and community members. I work alongside the Addiction Medicine team and Begin the Turn, Temple University's grant-funded mobile unit in Kensington. I am gaining extensive experience in addiction medicine, alongside relationship building as a community worker. As I continue my career, I hope to work in the overlapping recovery and LGBTQ+ communities, bringing personal experience and passionate advocacy work into all my affairs.
