Alpinestars is a technical apparel company. It is important for me to focus attention on the key technical aspects of our products. As Outside Communication Manager I specialize in building brand visibility by developing key relationships, with media, distributors and consumers to drive brand sales. Other aspects of the job include but are not limited to;• Working with the media to achieve positive and consistent media. I have demonstrated a track record of successful media placement.• I have the ability to craft and present compelling stories that are attractive to journalists.• Present technical information on all Alpinestars products.• Work with global PR Team to ensure synergy of global marketing efforts.• Attend Aplinestars sponsored events to provide technical expertise to media.• Interact with domestic and international agencies to assist in executing PR programs globally.

As the endemic global marketing public relation specialist I created, tailored and delivered appropriate pitches (product, athletes, celebrities, etc.) to the cycling media. This entailed getting product reviews, coordinating product launches and presenting new products to media, global subsidiaries, distributors and consumers. I attended major events such as the Tour De France/Ironman/Spring Classics as the spokesman of the company presenting products for TV technical spots and providing interviews.I found new ways of presenting compelling information and stories that were attractive to the media increasing Specialized’s visibility in the press. It was important to show who Specialized are, which is a company of cyclists who make products for cyclists. Duties included• Regular phone, email and in-person interaction with the media• Tailor and deliver appropriate pitches (product, athletes, celebrities, etc.)• Timely delivery of product to press for review • Assist with planning and implementation of public relations strategy, including events • Creation of media kits • Regular pursuit of new contacts• Tracking and quantifying print and digital press coverage• Representing Specialized at various events

This involved a lot of fit, form and function work letting the engineers know how products go together, how easily serviceable they are and looking for any possible weak spots or faults, before parts go into full production. On the athlete side I worked closely with teams and individual athletes to make sure they had all the products they needed to compete on and represent Specialized professionally. Report any feedback they may have and help strengthen the relationship between the athlete and Specialized.

This roll involved working with dealers and direct consumers to process warranty claims. I developed processes to reduce warranty costs while keeping a high level of customer service. Our goal was to keep dealers and consumers happy with Specialized and assure them that as a company we stood behind their products.
