About Roy Nice-Webb
All my life, I have answered the call to serve youth, young adults, and others who also serve. I have done this through public education, church relationships, community service organizations, positive youth development training, promotion and leadership of online international collaborations, and through my own development of aGAP - Advancing Global Awareness Possibilities through international collaboration among students and teachers.For a time, I explored the use of virtual worlds, like OpenSim, Edorble, ProtoSphere, and TERF to improve collaboration and the use of avatars to provide equity in conversations. My students have interacted within virtual world collaborations with students from other countries to share, discuss, and exchange presentations. At one point, I was the project leader for 545 students interacting from 13 countries and 20 schools, sharing within 32 international teams.The one consistent theme throughout all my varied work experiences is that of being a teacher, facilitator, and trainer. Being fully present in all interactions is my goal as I nurture the whole person in the teaching and learning experience.Currently, I am retired from public school teaching, and enjoying gardening and photography.

Photography and nature hikes help me to relax and take a break from my many varied pursuits. For many years I have taken photos on my hikes and it is now time to share my photo memories for others to enjoy.My journey in life has led me to become a certified Math, Physics, General Science, and Bible Teacher in the state of North Carolina. As a part of my professional development I became a National Board Certified Teacher of Mathematics and a Kenan Fellow. I have been teaching now for over thirty-four years in traditional and alternative school settings. One day, I will retire from teaching and devote myself fully to my photography.I have taught math and science in both private and public schools ranging from fourth grade to twelfth grade.
