I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Molecular/ Cell Biology and have approximately two years of experience working in a laboratory and field setting. As an undergraduate student, I was a strong student maintaining a cumulative G.P.A. of a 3.367 and have been recognized by Kent State University for my academic achievements through the receipt of various honors and awards, which are detailed in my attached resume. I was also an active participant and leader on campus serving as President of two organizations as well as a tutor in Biology and Organic Chemistry courses. During my years as an undergraduate I was employed and balanced two part time jobs. I created time to volunteer in research/ laboratory settings realizing the importance of gaining experience in my field. During my research endeavors, I became well acquainted with laboratory protocols such as light microscopy, fluorescent dyes, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, cell culturing and media preparation. I had a humbling experience having the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica where I received hands-on experience in the field and learned how to develop original research projects, implement experimental procedures within rain forests, write about results and finally present research projects to fellow classmates . My leadership qualities, communication skills, research experience, and ambitious spirit proves that I am capable of successfully entering the workforce and contributing to the advancement of the health and research industries.
