My passion for computers began with the family desktop - I vividly remember sitting in front of our family's HP Pavilion fixated on the LCD monitor, installing and testing the latest and greatest software I had just read about that day. Out of their support for my aspirations (or maybe out of a sense of self-preservation) my parents wisely decided to get me a Raspberry Pi for my twelfth birthday, and I've been hacking and coding ever since. I recall engaging on a countless number of projects with my miniature silicone companion. I used the Pi in countless hardware and software combinations in order to determine the optimal performance and efficiency. I don't believe any of my efforts lasted more than a month before getting wiped in search for a new thing to experiment with. When I attended high school, I immediately beelined for the recently developed AP Computer Science course, but this did little to satiate my interest in computer development. Rather, this only whetted my appetite - the realization that I too could design these programs I have been exploring my entire life was a refreshing level of empowerment. This love for computers has been a guiding experience in my college life and extracurriculars. I've engaged and succeeded with upper level CS courses ahead of my grade level. I've taught kids of various ages different coding languages, hoping to spark in them the same feelings and appreciation I have for programming. And I've peered into the future of coding with AR/VR development and Artificial Intelligence - I fully plan to be a part of the wondrous world of extended reality that is on the horizon. The key word in my life has always been "more" - learn more, adapt more, and do more. When I engage with an ever-changing, incredibly powerful tool such as code, I can't help but marvel at the sheer amount of possible things I can create.
