As a Merchandise Analyst in the Fresh Foods department of Woolworths limited. My role is to build and implement a merchandising plan to enforce the business strategy as well as deliver a completely functional point to point Planogram model. As part of this team I have identified 3 key area of improvement.Maintainability – I have identified areas of significant repetition and formulated solutions to remedy the time these tasks utilise. Thing such as manual running of report at the end of each Planogram can be solved by an event based trigger to automatically run reports in the background for distribution. This frees up a considerable amount of time for the user.Customer centric – The customer is the most important part of the business. There are several ways I have proposed to track the customer trends through reporting. Some of the reports created help track seasonal sales fluctuation by category and store. This allows us to identify and cluster stores with similar pattern as well as highlight possible opportunities.Expandable – I have identified areas that would hinder the proposed business model from being implemented in other parts of our business. The solution to this problem is that some data is not relevant to all teams so the end user is given the ability to add and remove data as intended. This gives the team the ability to manage the program as they see fit.I also maintain an active interest of the meat replenishment model of the business where we discuss current issues and what needs to be done to overcome these hurdles as well as identifying issue of importance to maintain maximum flexibilityOutside of work I keep up to date with emerging IT trends especially in the fields of handsets and smart phones. I also enjoy programming and digital animation.
