Independent transport researcher and Associate Editor of IET-ITS journal. Worked as Senior Consultant/Project Manager and Academy Fellow (science stream) at the Transport Research Laboratory, Crowthorne (House) UK (TRL), covering software development, UK, European and international consultancy projects, with technical content including traffic management and modelling, incident detection and management, and rail. PhD centred on theoretical description and calculation of the variability of random queues compatible with the Pollaczek-Khinchin formulation in random queuing theory. Also pursuing wider interest in how transport design and radical redesign can contribute to sustainability. Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) and of the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation (CIHT), and Chartered Engineer. Served on a committee of the European Transport Conference, and have reviewed journal papers for the IET, ICE, Transportation Research B, ETRR and PAIJ. Publications available on ResearchGate.
