I was responsible for continuing to develop KPMG's unique specialisation in the Energy market of CIS countries, following on from my particular exposure to extractive industries developed originally at KPMG Melbourne. KPMG's Moscow clients have very broad international exposures and therefore I was actively involved in financial reporting under Russian GAAP, US GAAP and IFRS principles.

Key clients were top-50 ASX-listed companies in extractive, manufacturing and construction and engineering industries.I was responsible for actively transitioning my clients' financial reporting from a previous Australian GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) to an AIFRS (Australian Equivalents to International Financial Reporting Standards) environment. In the process of doing so, I developed a full technical suite of financial reporting skills, with particular emphasis on accounting for financial instruments, business combinations and divestments, business restructures, income tax accounting, accounting for share-based payments and consolidations.
