    During my time in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) I worked my way through the non commissioned ranks until I was selected for my commission. After 27 years I resigned and left the Navy as a Lieutenant Commander. One of the highlights of my career was as the Marine Engineering Officer onboard HMAS CANBERRA, managing/leading a department of 40 personnel, assisting them with personal and professional development.My final position in the RAN was as the Full Cycle Docking manager for the Collins Class submarines, this provided a daily interaction with the platform builder and weapons designer to ensure a world class product was delivered back to the RAN with an enhanced combat capability and a maintenance program that delivered the design reliability.
