Worked as a quality engineer in the product improvement laboratory at JnJ subsidiary, Biosense Webster. Main objective was to use post market surveillance data to pinpoint high failure spots in a specific line of catheters, recreate these failures in the laboratory and then eventually make an improvement to the product to decrease failure rates and save money (aka CAPAs). These improvements were made in a multitude of ways whether they were design changes, process changes, material changes; all backed up by rigorous testing followed by reporting to an engineering counsel and eventually formal changes. Most of my time was spent in a laboratory interfacing with all kinds of equipment necessary to carry out different levels of test engineering. Worked on force issues, electromagnetic interference, design/packaging issues, material problems, conditional/process issues. Spent some time in meetings pitching ideas and selling my solutions, however not much and certainly not much as a leader of those meetings, looking to find more of this in my next role.

Worked in the advanced engineering team and was responsible for a few different projects throughout the summer. In charge of organizing and executing summer drive study collecting data on people’s HVAC preference. Assisted in running a test bench in order to find out how to get a thermoelectric device to render a sensation to the passenger within seconds of being activated. Assisted in prototype design of a capacitive sensing heater.

Worked in the FCA supplier switch engineering team. Primarily worked on the Wrangler, Ram, Grand Cherokee, and Grand Wagoneer. Did a lot of customer interfacing working with release engineers, as well as worked to make sure our switch was up to spec. mostly related to illumination, paint, and functionality of switches. Lastly, was involved heavily in benchmarking for our products.
