Nick has been involved in corporate & structured finance since the 1980's when he joined the British merchant bank, Morgan Grenfell. Over 14 years with the bank, he was responsible for cross-border investment banking origination, advising government & multi-national clients, management of a credit portfolio of c. £1,500 million and worked in OECD & emerging market countries. His experience included corporate advisory work and acquisition, limited-recourse, tax-based and off balance sheet financing, involving a broad range of financing and hedging products from the banking and capital markets for application in a wide range of industrial sectors. He spent three years in New York responsible for originating cross-border investment banking with US multinationals.Nick subsequently applied his corporate finance experience to the real estate sector. In 2005, he co-founded Rutley Capital Partners, the real estate private equity and investment management business of the Knight Frank group where he was also Head of Financial Services. As CEO and chairman of the investment committee of Rutley, he oversaw the growth of assets under management to over £1 billion.Nick founded BlueHaven Capital Partners to exploit the opportunity presented by the failure of established firms to respond to the needs of medium and small sized enterprises.Nick has unusually broad business experience, having worked as adviser, lender and investor, in OECD countries and emerging markets alike, and with both private sector multinationals and sovereign governments. His external directorships bring small company experience in real estate, SaaS and social media.
